The National Practice Nurse Conference for 2007 will be held in the North of England - to be more precise - Sheffield, where we will guarantee you a true Northern welcome.
It has been 13 years since we last welcomed our colleagues to Sheffield, when our theme was ‘Forging Links’. Our theme this time will be ‘Forging Ahead’, looking towards the future.
Sheffield is forging ahead as a modern city and practice nurses are forging ahead with nurse-led initiatives, as experts in management of long-term conditions, increasing access and choice for patients.
We promise to have an exciting, thought provoking and fun based conference to suit all primary and community nurses. Giving you the opportunity to relax with colleagues and meet new people to exchange knowledge away from your daily working environment.
The conference itself will be based at Sheffield’s newly refurbished City Hall. Over the three days we will have both national and local expert speakers, updating us on both the burning issues of the day and the basic knowledge we require to carry our jobs efficiently and confidently.
We have city centre accommodation to suit all budgets which will make this conference great value for money and affordable.
Wednesday evening we will have a drinks reception in Sheffield’s Millennium Winter Garden, which is home to some 2,500 plants and boasts to be the largest city centre glasshouse in Europe. Following this will be a fun packed evening in the nearby Novotel.
Thursday will not only have our expert speakers in the morning but the afternoon will be divided into specialist areas to enable you to stay in the area of health that interests you or dip into a variety of presentations to update yourself in different areas. The choice will be yours.
The Gala Dinner on Thursday will be held at the historic Cutlers Hall, during this evening the Practice Nurse Awards will take place. Giving you the opportunity to support your nursing colleagues and congratulate them on their achievements. Then dance the night away to the Sharp Cuts band before the finale on Friday. We look forward to seeing you then.

We would like to invite you to display your work at this Conference. Any new or innovative practice would be welcome.
To submit your poster to the Committee for consideration please email to info@forging-ahead.net, with approx 200 – 300 words outlining your intended poster details by Monday 16 April 2007.
