Totalling over 175 years in Practice Nursing

Linda Saville (Chair)

I have been a practice nurse for 11 years now and love my job. Probably because I work for good employers who are happy for us to work independently and support us continually. Originally after qualifying as a SEN I worked as a theatre nurse then on a gynaecology ward. I converted to an RGN in 1993. I have three children a 21 year old and twins at 18years. I enjoy music, dancing and my family. I do attend a gym in an attempt to keep fit but can’t go as far as to say I enjoy it. I attend all task group meeting for the conference so as you can imagine quite busy at the moment.

Sue Nutbrown (Vice Chair)

Sue has been a practice nurse for 19 years, specialising in minor illness and respiratory care. Married with three children aged 18, 21 and 24 years. Sue spends any spare time enjoying swimming and voluntary work for the British Red Cross Society as a tutor. But, you probably know Sue best as the chair of the Practice Nurse Association. Sue is part of the programme task group for conference.

Hilary Jackson (Treasurer)

Hilary has been a practice nurse for 16 years in an inner city, multi-cultural practice. She has two grown up children and a house-husband who enjoy travelling and exploring new places. She is currently undertaking an Msc in Advanced Health and Social Care Practice as well as being the practice nurse Clinical Lead for practice based commissioning. Hilary is part of the social task group for conference.

Kay Fletcher

Kay has been a practice nurse for 11 years specialising in chronic disease management and finds the job very rewarding. She has 2 young children but still manages to be part of the sponsorship group and our local practice nurse forum. Kay is excited at the thought of conference.

Diane Hakes

Diane has been a practice nurse for 17 years after working at the Children’s A&E followed by district nursing. She is married with 2 teenage sons who enjoy climbing, cycling and running, so Diane is on a constant mission to keep fit to keep up with them. She is part of the social and hospitality task groups for conference

Heather Hodgson

Heather has been a practice nurse for 17 years specialising in respiratory disease management. She loves the diversity of practice nursing. She also enjoys socialising with friends now her children are adults, which usually means a touch of wine. Heather is part of the sponsorship task group.

Katie Lakin

Katie is a retired practice nurse but still does regular locum work. She is an avid Cliff Richard fan going to all his concerts. She is part of the social task group for conference.

Marie Therese Massey

She presently works as a Nurse Practitioner/Manager in a PCT run PMS practice in a deprived area of Sheffield, with a high ethnic population. She has 2 grown up daughters and loves to go tap dancing. Gill is part of the sponsorship task group for conference.

Shirley Theasby

Her interests include diabetes, sexual health and minor illness. She is a nurse prescriber and is currently undertaking an Msc. She also has the very important job as editor for ‘Forging Links’ which is Sheffield’s newsletter for Practice Nurses. Married with 2 children 18 and 22 years makes her a very busy lady.
